This afternoon LS1 and Room 5 went to the reserve and did an experiment. We needed to put our hands up when we heard the clapper. We made a long line beside the water. Ms Kirkpatrick was at one end. When she clapped the sound traveled down the line. People put their hands up in the a wave. We saw the clapper before we heard the sound because light travels faster then sound.
I am a Year 5 student at Panmure Bridge School, Auckland, New Zealand. My teachers are Mr Wong and Mr Ogilvie.

Different Opinions
In our thinking groups we looked at a text that has different opinions. The issue was should we have prizgiving? We looked at the vocabulary and found some definitions. We talked about our own opinions. We wrote down one reason we should and one reason we shouldn't have prizgiving.

Poem - I Hear
When I think of Rainbows End
I hear sounds like children throwing balls.
Children having fun tapping their shoes.
Children crying.
Parents gulping drinks.
People eating crunchy hamburgers
Cars vrooming and backing into car parks.
That time I went home I told my family about what I heard.
And there, just outside the rollercoaster
as if it had never ceased to be.
But I only needed to be listened to
The air blowing leaves down from the trees
Instrument Art
Here is my pastel art. We made the instrument cold, swirly colour, and the background hot, spiky colour.
