I competed another speed demon challenge on my subtraction up to 20 My time was 5 minutes and 51 seconds and it was almost 6 minute. My score was 96 out of 100. Next time I could try a even harder level like up to 30 or 40.

Basic Fact Boxes

I completed a must do task. It's called Basic Fact Boxes. Baic fact boxes help you learn addition,subtraction, multiplication, and your division. I did subtraction. 

My time was 3 minute and 24 seconds and also my score was 97%.Next time I should solve the problem a little faster and to focus on the questions and read them.

I completed the speed demon challenge addition up to 10. 

It took me 3 minute and 19 seconds to complete the task. I got 100/100 right. Next time I am going to try an even harder level and be more faster a little.

Problem Solving

 Today I used 'Place Value' and 'Written Algorithm' to solve math problems.

Firstly, I read the question - 'Leilani has already practiced for 24 minutes, 26 minutes and 17 minutes. She needs to practice 90 minutes. How many more minutes does Leilani have to practice?

Next I did 'Place Value'. First I did the addition of the ones which are 4+7+6=17.  Then I did the addition of tens  which is 20+20+10=50. Then I added the answer 50+17=67. Finally I subtracted 90-67=23. 

Then I did 'Written Algorithm'. First I did the addition of the ones which are 4+7+6=17. I put 7 in the ones column and put 10 in the tens column.  Then I added the tens which is 20+20+10=50 and I added 50+10=60, and I added the answer 60+7=67. Then I did 90-67=23.

Lastly, I checked If the answer was 23 and the answer was 23.

I like problem solving because it helps me to develop my math skills, but it was hard to understand.

Basic Fact Boxes Multiplacation

I completed another basic facts boxes, but multiplication. 

I got all my answers correct and my time was 4 minutes and 55 seconds almost 5 minute.

Next time for my goal I will do division or up to 100 and to be more faster because I had to think about the questions.

 I completed subtraction speed demon challenge. 

My score was 100/100 and my time was 3 minutes and 49 seconds. 

Next Time I will try to do a harder challenge, like up to 10.

Calendars

 Calendars show us the Day, Week or Month.

Ther are 12 Months in a year, they are: Junuary, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.

Months have 28, 30 or 31 days. There are number patterns on a calendar by looking for four connecting days for example 20,60, 100.

Knowing before and after number Sequence and 7 timetables help us reading a calendar.

Analog Time

Analog clocks are a peice of technology that helps tell time.

A clock has 3 mechanisms. The second hand moves around the clock 5 or 4 seconds.

The minute hand is the longest and moves when the second hand completes 1 rotation. 

The hour hand moves the slowest and moves between the big numbers.

 

An analog clock requices you to look outside to know if it is Morning or Afternoon.

Multiplication

This week me and my group learned how to do multiplication.

First we had a cup of counters with unknown amount.

We have to put the counters into equal group like 5 groups of 4. 

Then we have to make a rectangle to show 5 rows of 4 column so 5 x 4 = 20 .

I enjoy this activety because I learned how to do my multiplication and I need to practice my multiplication.

Place Value and Saying Numbers

 Place value is a system that groups numbers based on their size.

The position of a digit determines it's value. When we say numbers we group then within the same house. For example 15709 has fifteen thousand, seven hundredred nine ones.

Understanding our base 10 place value system allows us to prounce big numbers properly. It also allows us to identify numbers before and after.

Basic Facts Chart

I learned about number bonds, doubles and shortcuts.

First I used uni-link cubes to help me learn my numberbonds and doubles.

Then I recored the answer for the number bonds on a Google Sheet.

After I used ctrl c (copy) and ctrl v (paste).

This activity was hard because I didn't know what to double up so I'm going to practice my doubles.

2020 blogging

My best month of blogging was at June and the worst is July, September and October. July, September and October had the same number. The best month is June because it has 11 blog posts. My goal was 100 posts, I need 37 more to get 100 posts. My favourite blog on June was the instrument art it was fun drawing our favourite instrument.
